Recent amendments to regulations in the Midde East included new requirements for the Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) to have at least two local establishments for importing, registering, distributing and marketing medical products. This presents a barrier to companies that don’t have a local presence in the region.
Gaelic Laboratories’ expansion into the UAE in 2024 was based on an early realisation of the Middle East’s market potential. Our ability to raise investment rapidly to establish a base in the region now enables us to market our own generic products in the Middle East, and partner with other companies wanting to access this expanding pharma market.
